    DefaultHelp with Food

We currently feed Fromm...I love there food but it is ezpensive and with 3 dogs need to get more bang for the buck.

Went to look at Diamond today and it says lamb meal? Is that good? Also seen 4health and they say lamb, then lamb meal.

Any suggestions. Open to all brands.

We did try TOTW grain free did not work well......

    Thanks for helping.

Here is the link for dog food reviews. If it is Diamond Naturals it's a 4 star food. So that's good. What was wrong with TOTW? That's what we feed, so I am curious.

Nothing wrong with TOTW for us it did not work...huge stools and soft. I even cut back and did not work. I love fromm but it is harder to find and expensive. I figure there has to be a good quality food out there that I can feed my three dogs:-)

Did you go to the link I posted? Most dog food brands are listed alphabetically. It gives you a good idea about the better foods.

We feed 4Health to Duke. It's made exclusively for Tractor Supply and I've been told that it's manufactured by Diamond and that the contact address on the bag is the same as some Diamond Pet Food products. I'll have to check next time I'm in Tractor Supply. It's price is right for our pocketbook (didn't want to go to Old Roy, lol) and Duke has done well on it. He has a shiny coat, energy and his stools are perfect. We've tried both the Lamb formula and the Chicken formula. They've recently added new formulas to their shelf, one being Salmon and Potato, I think it was.
I was going to suggest that you get the small bag to sample it and see if your dog likes it, but then noticed you have three so that wouldn't work, lol.
I think the price of dog food (our food too) has gone up lately. In our area, 4Health WAS .85/lb average but is now almost 1.00/lb for the kibble.
Luckily we only have one dog to consider.
Whatever brand you go with, just read the ingredients and see if you can find something similar to what you were feeding and then go with the best you can afford.

That's an even better price. If my calculation is correct, it comes out to .72/lb. Go for it.

Remember, websites like the one posted are just someone's OPINION. It's not based on fact. Feed whatever works for your dog, once you find something that works. I've tried the grain free foods and my dogs turned into poop machines, pooping 4-5 times a day. I went back to ProPlan and the stools are back to normal, 2 poops a day at the most. So ignore the hype and feed whatever works best for your dog.

Correct. A dentist in this case. His opinion is no better than your local barber.
