    DefaultProbly a dumb question.....

But I am thinking of switching from frontline to K9 advantix.

It says it repels mosquitoes, ticks and fleas.

Is it ok that they also take Interceptor monthly too? I mean I know the heartwrom meds dont repel mosquitoes or anything like that.

These two meds together are ok is basically what Im asking?

    Dumb....I know.

ETA: Calli is right on the line for the dosage, she is right under 55lbs at her last wiegh in. Would you get the smaller dose for her?

There is no such thing as a dumb question! In fact, that is a very good question. Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to it.

As far as I know interceptor is just a monthly wormer. I give my dogs K9 Advantix and Ivermectin and pyrantel pamoate. The two latter being for heartworm and the other a general wormer. I usually alternate the pyrantel with fenbendazole (safeguard) for a wormer.
So my advise is...check with your vet first LOL

Sammi gets k9 advantixs and heart worm monthly heart worm medication- I only give her the heart worm for 6 months because its not very prevalent here- then she is tested before starting back on it.

Bella gets Frontline Plus for fleas and ticks, even kills the larvae and Heartguard Advantage every month. In Missouri the fleas, and ticks abound, as well as heartworm.

Ted gets Interceptor and Frontline with tick control monthly. In fact, if I lapse more than 6 weeks with the Interceptor, the vet will do a blood test to make sure he hasn't become infected, since treatment would be different than just resuming the Interceptor if he was infected.
