Defaultcan Bentley have problems because of this?

Bentley was netured at 6 months of age. I didn't know about growth plates and everything. Plus the pound said if we didn't get him fixed in 30 days they would take him back and put him down. Since he was nutered before 18 months could that cause more health problems for him?

It could, however, he might not. I would be aware of what issues he might have and then worry about it only if he should develop a problem. Worrying won't stop it from happening and you did the best you could at the time. You might find he never has any issues.

Dio was neutered at 6 months and he has *knocks on wood* no growth related problems. He's 2 now.

Dogs have been spayed and nuetered at 6 months for YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS. It is ideal, no. But call me a snob, but I feel it's more important to have a nice pedigreed purebred dog left intact for a bit longer to let it mature the way it was supposed to. For a pound puppy or a mix, I have no problem just getting them fixed as soon as possible and being done with it.
