So, how many of you out there actually brush your dog's teeth? I have been using those finger brushes and absolutely hate it! It is a fight everytime. I prefer the finger brushes because I can actually feel what I am doing and that I am not missing any areas. In the good old days we gave our dogs bones and bisquits and never had problems with their teeth. Canine dental health is just a big issue these days I was wondering how many of you endure the battle. If not, what do you do to keep their teeth clean?
I do. a few times a week. my vet said I should do it daily ack!
Charlie (foster) and Rocky
we do it with rex because he has the breath from, hell tho we dont think, and neither does the vet, think it's from his mouth. the acidophilus ive been giving , finally, after 2 bottles seems to be helping. he's always had some stomach issues.
not that it stops him from acting goat-like.
Our dogs chew bones. Not one has needed teeth cleaning.
Nope, no brushing here.....just give them frozen, raw marrow bones.
Our vet said my girls had "teeth to die for" at their last visits.
I don't clean their ears or groom or bathe them either....our vet said their ears, skin and teeth are perfect. I like low maintenance dogs...lol
i give marrow bones as well. and even tho rex's breath can kill, both my boys have nice white teeth.
Marrow bones here too, and at 3 years old Bauer has beautiful white teeth. I do brush them a few times a week too. The last time I took him to the vet, he asked (jokingly) if I had whitened Bauer's teeth.

Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for much, but bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.
I brush teeth when I brush her coat so maybe once every week or two. I hate it. But I stopped brushing our last lab's teeth at age three or so (human babies entered our lives and I just let it fall to the waste side) and OMG, her teeth were nasty and her breath was stinky. Would really like to prevent that with our new pup.
I've been giving my boys a Dentastix each day. As much for a treat as anything. I googled finger toothbrush for dogs and I must say I feel like a slacker now. That can't be easy.
Three times a week, but then HK has dental issues since her permanent teeth came in.
