    DefaultOverweight?

I have a question for you out there in JL land: Is Dio overweight? A little chunky? Just right? Our vet says he's fine, some friends say he's fine, others say he's overweight and that we should get a new vet. The only reason I care is that I do not want Dio to be overweight and to get injured because of it. He now weighs around 110lbs and we run/retrieve for over 1 hour a day.

From the pics, he appears to be in the normal range- not too fat, not too skinny.

Thanks! That's what I think, but it upsets me when our friends call him "fat or chunky". I mean, he has a big deep chest which gives him a bulkier appearance, but you can see the outline of his ribs and he has a tuck. So, thanks for the reassurance!

Agree with the others, he looks perfect to me. Saying his deep chest makes his look broader is the human equivelent of broad shoulders...I'm sure your friends wouldn't regard that as fat! He's lovely looking

I think he looks perfect. He must be solid muscle to weigh 110 pounds! Big boy

He is all muscle! I was asked again today if he was pure lab or a mastiff and/or great dane cross. Nope, he's all lab! I love my cuddle bug to pieces!!

I'm always grabbing my boys' neck wrinkles and talking about how I could make an extra dog out of all that droopy skin. I hope I'm not giving them a complex! Every once in a while I'll call them my FatBoys...but I think they're both perfectly proportioned. I'm just a mean mommy.

Now, if someone lovingly called ME chunky or fat, they'd find themselves with my fist in their kidney. But I'm sensitive like that

He must be quite tall - he does not look like 110# to me. That is not an overweight dog.
