Long story short Piper (13 mths) is being treated for ear infection but this am when she was in the bathroom while my fiancee was getting ready he said that he thought she was having a seizure. She was laying on the floor with her head up and she started to move her head back and forth for about 2 minutes and had this glass eyed look like she was not there and didn't respond to him calling her. Then she got up and sat on the rug like nothing was wrong... I have a call into our vet and I am waiting to hear back. We are scared to death to I lost 2 labs in the last year. (one to cancer at 3 yrs and one to a heart attack at 6 yrs)
I would take Piper to the vet for a check up. So sorry for the loss of your Labs
My Ace had one about 10-11 years ago. Scared me half to death. I took him to the vet and I can't remember exactly what they told me, but it was basically some dogs may have one or two their whole life and never have one again, but to keep an eye on him. He's 12 now, and I've never witnessed another after that one.
Our dog Tilly has had a few in her 8 years (maybe 4 or so). She is deaf, and has been all of her life. She seems to have got them when she is in a very deep sleep and someone has startled her. They lasted maybe 30 seconds, she shakes a little, can't stand up, but is fully conscience, and she doesn't lose control of her bladder. When it's over, she gets up like nothing ever happened. I did take her to the vet, and she was checked out, but they couldn't find anything wrong with her. It has been several years since she has had one of these episodes. Good luck, hope it is nothing serious.

We went to Dr. on Saturday and she double ear infections. Gross... She is feeling much better
Glad she's doing better. It's no wonder she was shaking her head.
