    PostRAW vs. DRY FOOD

Some advocate Raw food some Dry food. The info "on line" is all over the place. However, I have a decent understanding of pros and cons of each.

Currently I am feeding Edward (9wks old) Omas Pride Raw food and when I have to also use Orijen Dry food. Not sure if I will continue with only Raw, or only Dry, or a combination of both.

I just wanted to take a poll and see how many people use Raw vs Dry and the brand.

    Thank you

Lucy, who is 3 months is on Chicken Soup for the pet lovers soul puppy food (what the breeder was using), and Tilly (who is almost 8) is on Taste of the Wild- a grain free dry food that is working really well for her as she has allergies, and would get lots of ear infections on other food. Both dogs inhale their food, and seem really healthy. I bought a slow feeder bowl for the puppy as she was finishing her meals in about 10 seconds flat - I don't think she could even taste it!! The bowl has really helped, now it takes her at least 2 minutes to finish!

I feed dry food, and for a multitude of reasons mine both eat Rx foods currently.

Just an aside in case you weren't aware, the only Orijen formula safe to feed Edward is their Large Breed Puppy formula - the others aren't appropriate for growing puppies Our Charlotte ate that as a puppy for a while, IMO it's a great company.

    DefaultRaw food smells better

I started my dogs on raw after getting yellowdog. He couldn't thrive on kibble for some reason. Both yellowdog and beardog smell better (breath & skin) since switching to raw.

The Orijen large breed puppy food looks just like the photo above but a 80:20 mix instead of the 70:30

This ^^^ - you chose a breeder and should go with their food choice. They know their lines best and understand what works for their dogs.
