really, really, REALLY not a good idea. Talk to your vet before you give your dog ANY medication.

You need topical antibiotics to treat bacterial ear infections in dogs. Systemic antibiotics don't reach high enough concentrations in the external ear canal to effectively treat infections. Really you should see a vet to determine what type of infection it is, as many "infections" in dogs ears are caused by yeast and not bacteria.

He is shaking his head a lot and there is a foul odor I have ear cleaner that I got at the pet store I have been using that, but it only helps for a couple of hours. I read that a home remedy is olive oil soaked in garlic I have been doing that for 3 days, but he is still shaking his head a lot.

You dog really needs to see a vet. This is not something you can remedy yourself.

Do not put oil and garlic in your dogs ears. WTH?

Dog ears are not human ears, and being a ear nurse, thats not even a good idea for people. STOP.

Take him to the vet. Would you take your dog's antibiotics?

He needs to be seen by a vet. These home remedies are probably doing him worse.

What kind of food are you feeding him? How long has he had ear problems? I ask, because my Frankie had ear problems constantly, until I put him on a grain free food.

You also shouldn't be cleaning them with cleaner every day. That irritates them even more. Whiping them out is one thing...pouring cleaner...especially oil an garlic will only irritate them. Get to a vet.
