Our chocolate female woke up this morning and had a swollen, blistery snout. It has completely taking us off gaurd, and was wondering if anyone has seen this before.
She had no previous injury, and we have no insects around as it cold and snowy.
Thanks for your help.
Did she put her snout against anything hot like the oven or a curling iron? Have you called the vet? Labs are so stoic they may not appear to be in pain but a mysteriously swollen & blistery snout sounds painful to me.
I'd be suspecting a bite (spider, maybe) or a burn or a reaction to a chemical. She needs to see a vet.

Only First Aid I can recommend is a face cloth or piece of tissue soaked in tepid water held to her snout for as long as she will let you until you can get her to the vet. Hopefully osmosis will happen and the water might move out of the blisters. The water might also cool what sounds a lot like an accidental burn.
Hope she's okay.
