    DefaultGarlic for ticks?

Ok, we are having a heck of a time here (PA) with ticks right now. I am just about at the end of my rope.

Ive been searching online and Ive found a few articles. One said give 1 clove garlic daily for a repellent.

Anyone ever do this? Does it work?

I dont know why but I thought garlic was bad for dogs?

I also found if you mix almond oil and rose geranium and apply to the collar it will also repell ticks. Ill try it, but so far I cant find the rose geranium. I guess I will have to order online.

Any other ideas for us? TIA!

Are you looking for natural remedies only?

Only after the last tree has been cut down, only after the last river has been poisoned, only after the last fish has been caught, only then will you find that money cannot be eaten. - Cree prophecy

Well, no, but I just recently put they're frontline on. So I dont want to use anymore chemicals for at least 3 weeks. I normally do 6 weeks in between applications.

I was just looking for something to repel them. Like so stinky the ticks wouldnt even want to be near them.

Im also looking into swiching from frontline to advantix.

    Any advice is welcome though!

Garlic doesn't work. At least in my experience.

Garlic is toxic, it can cause anemia in high doses. Not sure what exactly constitutes a high dose though - and lots of people use it.

I would definitely switch from Frontline, it doesn't seem to do much of anything around here anymore. I think Connie uses Neem Oil?

I remember reading it somewhere, but I couldnt find it.

And yeah, we never really(knock on wood) have a flea problem, but it doesnt seem to do anything for ticks.

Thanks. Ill check the neem oil out.
