My Kipper, 2 yr old lab. Last yr. Sept. 3rd to vet for limping, left hind leg. vet said toes appeared red in between possible allergy situation w/secondary infection. gave antibiotics and prednisone. limping stopped
this year, august 27th, limping again. waited to see what would happen. went to vet Oct. 27th. same leg, vet says he sprained his ACL. maybe i'm worried about nothing but im having a problem accepting that these two incidents are just "coincidence". how could he be limpiing two years in a row with a week of each other?
I'm wondering if it is some sort of reoccurrent lyme disease? anyone have experience with this. we live in a very wooded area, he had two ticks on hiim when we took him to the vet this time. has not been immunized for Lyme disease. Or .....is it just a coincidence...ugghhh I hate that word.
Well, if it is LYMES, they can test for that and give you a definative answer.
Otherwise, it's just a coincidence. But when you think everything happened in the late summer, when the dogs are probably more active, it's hardly a coincidence. We have more injuries in the summer than the winter, when the dogs (and me!) are more sedentary.
