DefaultWhen do I switch to feeding only twice a day?

I did a search, but my criteria must be faulty! I know it must be here somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. When should I switch to feeding my pup twice a day versus three times a day?

    Thanks everyone!!!

Milo is 6 and a half months old, Ive only had him not even two weeks, and I feed him twice a day....I work during the day so I feed him in the morning and again after I get home from work. Seems to be working so far.

Yeah my vet said to start him at 6 months - twice a day. We just started on twice a day.... so far so good!

I just tried switching Raven who is 3½ months. Nope, not ready yet. I'll try again at 4 months and see if her stomach can handle it.

What should I be watching for to see if he is ready or not? He is almost 5 months old, so I would expect that he should be able to handle it, but he always acts hungry, so his acting doesn't mean much. He would eat me out of house and home if I let him, and he would be 100lbs already

A loose stool. Typical of a dog not able to process all that food in the stomach at one time. At five months, your boy is prolly not going to have a problem.
