Okay, so I know this is a normal process, but it's our first time owning a female. I know it's for the best, but I am kinda scared for her. I know, probably silly but she is my baby. There I feel better just sharing and getting it off my chest!

I know how you feel! I've had several females and been through that each time.

She'll be just fine. She may be out of it for a day or so or she may come home full of beans.

She will be fine. Just keep her calm and she will most likely sleep for the first day or two.
It is for the best like you said.

Thank you both, your words do bring some sense of relief to me. She is the sweetest pup and will be 5 months old this Sunday. She is going to be missing the bark park for awhile but I'm sure she will be raring to go again as soon as she is on the mend.
One more thing, do they use stitches that will dissolve or will they need to be removed? I know that she will have a follow up visit but was just wondering, I feel silly now for not having asked the vet.

Usually the external stitches have to be removed - but that is really not a big deal - I've removed them myself. Internal stitches disolve.

Bella Mia is home now, sound asleep and sadly worse for the wear. The receptionist messed her up with another dog and they gave her another round of vaccinations after having done this two weeks ago. So she was given 3 bordetella shots in the last month. I was so upset, she is up to date until next year on all her vaccines and it's in her records. And they wanted us to pay for their mistake, but thankfully they apologized and we got it all worked out but our poor baby looks so pitiful with her collar on. At least we got sedatives to keep her calm as well as pain meds. Made me so upset and sad for her. The vet assured us that the extra shots won't hurt her.
