DefaultTPLO - swelling at l month!!!!

Today Emma developed a swelling along the incision line.
    Tonight it is worse.
We were at the surgeon this week and everything was ok then and she got her stitches out.
Wonder if she has just over done it.
Hoping that things look better in the morning.
We have put her back on the medcam tonight.
    Any thoughts??

I am not smart enought to figure stuff like this out very well. I would guess it got wet and a secondary infection? However, I sure hope your puppy gets better soon!

Update since my last post..........Emma somehow split the swelling area and ended up with a small hole in the middle of her incision. We had to take her back to the clinic, long weekend to get a staple put into it till tomorrow.

It looks better today so we will see what happens tomorrow.
She is still on medacam as it still seems to bother her a bit.

    Keep you posted.
    Thanks for your thoughts.

Back from the vet and they have put Emma on antibiotics.
Sometimes this happens and it can become chronic.
If she gets another swelling/infection again then we might have to consider in late Oct to remove the plate and screws.
By then she should be healed and wouldn't need them anymore.
Hope all this doesn't happen and these drugs do the trick for good on the swelling.

    Thanks
