Being a new lab owner, I thought this would be a interesting survey. From everything I've read every lab is different and you have to pick a food right for your lab, but I thought this would be helpful for the newbies trying to figure out where to start.
Maggie eats Purina Pro Plan (large breed puppy formula for the first year)
Maggie - DOB 11/28/09
Right now, both boys are on Chicken Soup for the Puppy food. They also get two scoops of plain yogurt and some green beans mixed in with their kibble. I do eventually plan on switching them over to a raw diet though.
Both of mine are on Wellness CORE.
Sharon, Blaise and Diesel.
All three of mine eat Pro Plan Selects Chicken & Brown Rice.
Puff will be 9 years old on August 15th, 2010.
She eats Kirkland's C&R&V (sold only by Costco but fairly similar to "Diamond Naturals," made by the same company): 1 c. kibble for breakfast (+ a small handful of "Craisins" & 1 dried apricot); 1 c. kibble + a cooked small salmon slice + 3/4 c. cooked frozen string beans (w/o salt) for supper. Plus a G&C tab and a Fish Oil cap, 1ce/day.

Puff [YF, AKC field line (from competing HT/FT breeder) 62 lbs, dob: 8-'01]
Bess [BF, AKC bench line (from competing show breeder) 55 lbs., 1967-1981] "Poor Bess, the Wonder Dog":
I hear proplan selects is a great food!!
Java and Moka are both on Taste of the Wild. I rotate the High Prairie and Pacific Stream flavors. They also get green beans, peas, carrots, yogurt and fresh fruit. Along with Hylasport Canine, Grizzly Salmon Oil, Vit. C & Vit. E for supplements.
Gracie and Lola are both on Pinnacle chicken and oat
Dex has always eaten Iams. He does well on it so no need to change. However, we supplement it with low fat plain yogurt, veggies, fruit and small amounts of chicken or other meats. Plus he gets fish oil pills.
He definitely gets plenty of fibre!
