    DefaultLabrador CNM

Hi All. It has been a while! Anyways, I believe I have puppy with Labrador CNM. I've sent in the swabs to France over a week ago and am waiting the results. I am just looking for others that are experiencing this.

    I'm terribly sorry.

    How old is your Lab?

From where did you get her? Was she a rescue or come from a responsible breeder?

I googled Labrador CNM and read much of the material on the Centronuclear Myopathy in Labradors site -- as I imagine you have, too.

Thank you Bob. She is 6 months. That site is THE only site that has extensive information and that is the site I used for ordering her test kit. Yes, she did come from a responsible breeder. This just wasn't tested for, unfortunately.

I viewed the video of an affected dog. This is so sad. I am very sorry for you and for your poor dog. As I read the body language, he so wanted to go and play with the other Lab in the video and the poor guy just can't do it.

Thank you HersheyK and Mary Jane. She isn't as bad as the dog in the video, yet. She does have her moments. She does tire easy. She looks forward to her swims. I have to be careful with that, for she has very little neck muscles and her head will just fall into the water and she could drown. The hardest part of all this is that she has the drive for what she was bred for, retrieving. She loves her bumpers. From my talks with one of the representatives of the above website, there is NOTHING you can do. She will eventually get pneumonia because of no muscle fiber in the esophagus.

This is very hard for me. She is the snuggliest pup and her attitude is impeccable! I just love her so much. I swear I was put on this earth to care for the misfit animals. My payback for not having human children

It sounds like this is the equivalent of a human having ALS maybe a bit more extreme??
My heart breaks for you and your pup.....you are a stronger person than I.
