    DefaultNeed some food advice

Hey everyone. Oakley is on Acana adult food. I have been happy with it until a few weeks ago.
Her bm's are regular but she has some hard and soft stool in the same movement sometimes she strains to poop and man is she gassy!!!!
Her treats and such have remained the same and she really doesn't get enough of it to make that big of a difference.
Do you think I should be looking at changing her food?

Hi Bob, Oakley is 4. We found the ACANA food after Canidaie changed their formula. I have tried a few others, Nutrisource being one. As far as I can tell from the other experimenting, it is barley that she doesn't tolerate well. We have probably been on Acana for well over a year or so. The pooping issue is not new but I usually tried to supplement with pumpkin occasionally. The gas is new (and stinky!), she had to have her anal glands expressed for the first time a few weeks ago.

I don't know what to sugest other than trying some other good food. (I googled Acana and it has top flight ingredients but maybe some one or two of those produce the gas?)

You might consider one of Taste of the Wild's formulas to see if that makes a difference.

    Good luck.

Both of my girls are on Taste of the Wild High Prairie. They love it and are doing great on it. No gas or loose stools.

Of course my next bag is my free bag! I think I will look at another Acana food for this bag and if we don't resolve things I will consider the switch.
    Thanks for your comments.
