Defaultwhen does a runny stool need a vet visit?

My little boston terrier has had loose stool for 3 days...she is waking me up twice a nite to go out. Do I continue to wait it out or take her in? She really stinks too, today I gave her a bath because she had crusty on her butt.

Is her stool mucousy and really nasty looking? If it is it could indicate a parasite, which would clear up with an antibiotic.

I would take her in along with a stool sample if you can get it, just to be on the safe side.

I don't let it go more than 2 days. Take her and a stool sample in. Make sure they check for giardia.

Better 'too mommy' than the dog suffer.
