Pup went through her first heat in early December. I'm sure that she had no contact with any other dog during that time, because I was out of work during that period and spent nearly 24hrs a day with her.
So I guess i'm asking...what may be causing this?
and if we could save the "take her to a vet" post for at least the 2nd page i'd appreciate it.
Not a great pic, but it will give you and idea about the swelling in the rear two breasts.
OK...since no one has replied I'm guessing everyone thinks she needs to go to the vet.
Thanks for the help.
It could be a false pregnancy. Can you express anything from the nipples? If clear or milk FP is my guess.
If you express blood or puss I would suspect an infection and you should get her to the vet.
No milky/clear/bloody/or puss like liquid comes out and she shows no indication of being in pain or being uncomfortable with the swelling.Originally Posted by Snowco Labradors

Good luck. Let us know what the vet says.
Vet says it rare for a dog to have one during their first heat, but thats what shes going through.
No course of action required, just allow time for teets to return to normal size.
Thanks Snowco, for your advise and interest in this thread!
We used to have a dog who had a FP each time she came in heat, she not only had teats but she even looked fatter.
The more people I meet the more I like my dog
