Murphy has allergies to beef, carrots, dandelions, wool, etc. (verified by vet tests). The vet put him on Science Diet prescription Venison & Potato food which has helped. Unfortunately this costs me $60 for 17 lbs. This is a lot of money for us right now. I bought a bag of Eukanuba Naturally Wild Venison & Potato for $36 for approx the same size. I haven't switched him over to try this food, but would like to know if anyone else on this forum has any experience, good or bad, on this food with allergy prone pups. I know money shouldn't be the driving factor but I also need to be realistic as to what we're spending on his food.
You might also look at either Costco's Kirkland chicken, rice & vegetables OR a somewhat similar Diamond Naturals formula (made by the same mfr) and more widely available. Just type in Diamond pet food into Google and get their dealer locator.
Or consider one of Diamond's "Taste of the Wild" formulas.

Wellness has a Simple Solutions formula with Venison & Potato that is much cheaper than the prescription diet you have the dog on now. If he is doing well on a novel protein (the venison) I would try to stick with it rather than going over to a chicken or lamb based food.
