    DefaultChristmas Tree Protection

We are going to get a Christmas tree tonight. We have a puppy that is almost a year old, but he is a thief. He loves to steal everything that he can reach. We know that he is going to try to steal the ornaments off of the tree. We have already decided to leave to lower half of the tree empty. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to protect the tree so he doesn't pull the entire thing down. I can see it now, Cooper knocks the tree down & tries to drag it out the back door.

Year old labs and Christmas trees do not mix well. You will have to quarantine the tree.

We have been lucky so far....Barley is 6 months old and hasn't stolen any ornaments..he's licked a few though!

My friends with babies put up these:
    Walmart has them I believe.

We aren't having a tree this year...but I know people who have used fishing line and hooked the tree into their ceiling...guess it depends on how strong your ceiling is....

Those are SMART! I hope Walfart isn't the only store with them...I don't go in there. Gahh I might have to risk it.

Anyhoo, get a fake tree! Phoebers ignores ours. I don't put the ornaments low enough to be stolen either - too much of a risk with a 1 year old and a doggie!

Mine totally ignored it last year. I swear the 8ft tree that landed in the front room didn't even register with them.

We are more worried about the cats every year. Our young (under 1 year old) female is going to go nuts when we bring it home.

The pic is small, but you get the idea.

(we actually cut each branch off when it's time to take the tree down)
