Hubby has been having a hard time with Remy tuggin, especially now that he is big and marking on our walks. I'm switching him over to a martingale, which I have been successful using on my golden. I was just curious as to what you use and how well you think it works.

I just started using the martingale collar on Archie who is my big puller and it works as long as it is high on his neck but the smart$$$ constantly shakes his head to move it down (although I try to hold firmly). Part of the problem is I'm walking two and although Misty is not that much of a puller she is a constant stopper and while I try to get her back in line I probably loosen my grip on Archie's leash. Any suggestions?
Aren't we comfortable!
Sophie and Cassie wear Sens-ation front clip harnesses, Tris and Kaylie are walked on flat collars.
I use a choke on walks.

That really depends.
I use flat, chain, and if needed I will use a e and a prong.
Cheap flat ones. Only 3 bucks each and have lasted over two years.
Bauer wears a flat collar. We tried chains, martingales, head collars, and harnesses, but he still pulled . . . just choked himself in the process. I spent 2 weeks walking him around the high school, and every time he walked out in front of me (didn't let him actually pull) I turned and went the other way. It took 2 weeks of constant training, but he finally understood that being away from me was not a good place to be.

Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for much, but bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.
I have it all! For regular walks I use flat. But for teaching Bogey not to pull I used the prong. Worked like a charm.

We have a flat collar for Milly for everything but walks. Walking we use a choke chain.... it's the only thing that works for me to stop pulling... lots of practice learning how to check her correctly too. Now we just need small checks sometimes... she really is a good walker now at almost 1 yr old.
Flat with a choke chain added when walking.
