    DefaultUrine Sample

I think Piper has a UTI (suddenly started doing lots of short pees on our walks). I've never had to take a urine sample from her - anyone have any tips! She squats pretty low to the ground - it does not sound like it is going to be easy!

I got a small shallow food container and slipped it under her while she was in "action."

I think someone used a pie pan.

Good thoughts for Piper. Catch it early, if it is UTI and it goes away very quickly.

To get a urine sample from babies, you let em go on the diaper, rip out some of the wet cotton, put it in a syringe with no needle and push. Voila, urine. You could slip a diaper or some paper towels under her. Put in a zip lock bag and take to vet.

Thanks for the tips. I'll be trying them tonight (not sure how this will work in the dark). She just started showing signs yesterday and vet appt is tomorrow so hopefully it will get cleared up quickly.

I am hoping I never have to deal with that with Abbey.. She's sometimes a pee-walker, so I think it would be hard trying to chase her with a container.. lol

Is she only doing frequent pees on walks or all the time (has to go out all the time or is having accidents in the house)?

Some females do like to mark when they are out on a walk.

I have always used a long handled stainless soup ladle. Works quite well.
