    DefaultRecovery on neuter

So, Mom is picking up Belvedere sometime today. He was neutered yesterday. I have a question regarding recovery:

The vet said he needs to be "quiet" for a week. Seriously? I would not have thought it would be this long.

The boys were neutered when we brought them home, so it's been about 15 years since I've had a dog neutered myself. Crash was about six months when we had him done. I don't remember his recovery being a big deal at all...they kept him overnight, if I remember correctly, and then I thought it was pretty much business as usual. ?

Just sounds like a long recovery to me. Of course, we'll do whatever is necessary...just askin'

Obviously we'll try to keep him from licky-licky. We'll get a cone (I don't think the boys' cone is going to fit him).

    Connie and "The Boys":
Angus, Yellow Lab, CGC, RE, CD
Simon, d.b.a. Flat Coated Retriever, CGC, RE, CD

Gone ahead, but forever in my heart:
Crash, Pit Bull x Rottweiler x Golden Retriever

They told us to keep Smeagol calm for a week too but after two days he was his normal self. We still tried to keep him from jumping on things and had to keep an ecollar on him so he didn't lick the stitches.
