Warts? I think Simba may have a wart on her back leg. It's hard and not really scabby or bleeding. She doesn't seem to be bothering it. It's about the size of a large pea. I'm going to watch it for a couple of days before I go to vet and see what it does.

It's not the destination, it's the journey!

Many years ago I had a cocker spaniel that had a lot of warts when he got old. The dog was totally spoiled and didn´t eat kibble, he pretty much ate human food and was very fond of ham.

I always attributed the problem to his diet.

Yes, it's caused by a virus.

Is it a wart or a skin tag?

I've attached a pic of Shane when he was about 5 months old. You can see the growth on his nose. My vet back then told me it was a wart and said not to do anything until he was neutered and we could remove it then. Another vet told me it just looked like extra skin. It kept growing, but then after a play session with my sister's dog, it was gone, apparently, it fell off. In current pics you can still see where it was, but it hasn't returned, and I hope it doesn't. Also, Shane's black pigment never completely returned to what it was when he was a puppy.

Yes, definitely, my old chocolate lab who passed in April had one on top of his forehead and now Jasper has one in almost exactly the same place.

When Jonah's got that it was almost hanging off, I bought some of that wart treatment called Wartner, not sure if it's available across the pond?

Basically it freezes the wart and 24 hours later it drops off, the hair grew back over and it was completely unnoticeable after that.

I must do Jasper's now you've reminded me.

Sorry its so large. Now I don't know if it's a wart or not? Definitely not a skin tag. It's hard and about the size of a peanut.
