Default*UPDATE at top* Ted's going for tests on Wednesday

*QUICK UPDATE - Teds home and very unsettled so briefly his arthritis in his elbows has got worse we go back on Friday to discuss ongoing treatment options. Get results of skin scrapes/tests/biopsies the next 5-10 days. Thanks for all your good wishes and will keep you posted but a chocolate puppy needs me*

Ted collapsed this morning, the third one I've witnessed in two months. His underlying problem is elbow dysplasia. But he has these spasms and he can't use his front legs at all. So he is having his left leg x-rayed (his right one was operated on last year!) to see if there are any obvious causes as that one appears to be the worst.

Also, he has horrible skin postules on his underbelly that go away for a while with antibiotics and don't get so red with antihistamines, but the vet has now decided that he needs to have skin scrapes and biopsies and allergy tests - as we haven't a clue what's causing it ie, contact with an allergen, mites, or if it's a food allergy.

Although to look at him now, you wouldn't believe there is anything wrong with him, so we've upped his anti-inflammatories and he's back on pain killers.

I'm not expecting it to be anything too serious with the skin thing but can we please have some good thoughts coz I'm more of a wreck after watching his collapse than he is at the mo.

Poor Teddy! Hope everything works out.

Regarding the sores on his tummy. I am not familiar with his story, but what are you feeding him. HK would get something similar to what you described and as soon as I put her on a grain free food, it stopped. Sometimes trying simple experiments work.
Hershey Kisses, In charge of getting Ed out to the dog park so that he gets some exercise.

He used to be on Bakers but is now on Hills Science Joint Care diet, the sores have been around with both types of feed but I am aware it only needs to be one ingredient they both use! He will be tested for wheat allergies, but I will let you know as I may need ideas on feeds if he tests positive!!
