Ok trying to get my friend to join JL so she can ask her own questions but in the meantime
helping her out. lol
She has a 4 month old male lab pup. This thing is literally a peeing machine. She tells
me how much it pee's and I keep telling her that I don't believe it's normal. She
said well she know's male dogs pee more. But I don't think what she's describing to me is
normal. The pup will go out and pee, come back inside and pee. The other day she said
he was laying on his back resting and all of a sudden just start's peeing. He pees in his
crate and they have it small enough for him. He is literally a peeing machine.
The first thing I told her was to get him checked for sugar. Do lab male pups really
pee this much???
Honestly, Id think you were describing Calli! She had a horrible UTI when I got her, it took two rounds of antibiotics to get rid of. Exactly the same tho. I would spend alot of time outside as soon as we would come back in she would pee!
She literally peed all the time. I would have him checked out by the vet.
As far as sugar? I dont know. Never had to deal with it. Tell your friend good luck!

They need to take a urine sample in. It's not normal.

I was thinking maybe a UTI too.

Thank you!! I just called and left her a voice message to tell her.
Pups pee alot but that sounds like ALOT. I would get him checked for both UTI and diabetes
Well - it can be bevioural as well as medical ! Dylan will go all night from 2100 until 0700 without peeing but he will also pee on the floor an hour after his evening walk and a play with Jasper ( which excites him )
I suppose that I let him out more rather than less to give him the opportunity to pee knowing what he is like ! Perhaps I don't expect enough of him but because he is clean for the majority of the time , I don't worry !
BTW - read my peeing thread at the last dog training session !.....second thoughts - don't
my gryphon never peed a lot buy Lily earned the name Miss Pee's A Lot as a pup. She was HORRIBLE! No UTI's.
Rhum pee'd a lot and did have a UTI.
Gryph had one UTI but that was later as an adult. When he had it he would pee A LOT!!!!!!!!!! Not only in frequency but in the duration of time he would pee. He would keep going, and going, and going.....
I forgot to mention that she did tell me he can go all night without peeing but as soon as he's
up he's a peeing machine.
