So tonight was Ginny's graduation from our one puppy class It was a pre-requisite that any one getting a Ruby puppy had to attend obedience classes at least weekly until they are 6 months old.
This particular class is one I've done with all my dogs, and its lots of good fun and lays a great foundation for any competitive or pet obedience classes in the future.
Of all 9 puppies, only ONE lives local to me, and so this puppy (Paris/Rayna) graduated tonight as well! And Marshall (was Victor) who is owned by my best friend and fellow labby lover (she also owns Ruby's brother, Monte) drove every week to go to this class. So of the 17 puppies in this class, large or small...3 are from Ruby's litter.
And guess what?
We got all the metals! LOL (felt sorry for all the others, almost!)
Puppies (who are 15 weeks old now!) had to do a heeling pattern over a jump, round a pylon, stand for 10 seconds and stand for a quick exam, as well as a recall to front, and a 15 second sit and 30 second down.
Thats Mary Lou and Marshall, with silver, Ginny and I who got the top score and Mark and Rayna (and her pretty girl sit) who were bronze! We were only separated by .5 point and there was a run off.
It was a lot of fun! Nothing serious at this point!
Spoiled? I think NOT!
Awwww good puppies!!!
Rayna is a pretty girl!
~Abby, Molly, and Penny (the honorary lab)
Lookin' good! Is it just me or is Rayna HUGE!! Holy cow!! I still think of them as itty bitty babies... they grow too fast!
Baloo - 5 year old black lab
Peanut - 7 year old minpin
Monster - 3-ish year old frenchie/jack, rescue
~Veronica and Nikki~
Sweet Emma, 16th of February 1996~26th of November 2010
Always in my heart and soul. Together forever, my love....
Nikki 6 months
Thats excellent Melissa!!!! And oh my what beautiful pups!
I remember when Lily was in puppy K and she took all the ribbons. I too felt really bad. Loved my instructor, but I really wished she had spread the wealth around a bit more. Even if she had to make it up. I did not want those people who worked so hard to feel discouraged.
I cannot believe Gin is already old enough to GO to puppy classes! SHEESH it seems like she was JUST born yesterday LOL
I think that is great that you ask for a commitment for the training, but how can you enforce it? It seems that it would not be possible, but maybe I am thinking too limited.Originally Posted by luvmydogz2much
