    Defaultwhen funny isn't funny

So I got this 2L bubble gum machine for my birthday, in september. Its lived in peace at the back of the counter for two months. I have not eaten any, but my nephews think its great.

I went to work today, got home, let Gin out of her crate and she ran to the back door, and when I got there she had the empty machine in her mouth. :whatever: Hmmm.

So I look at Ruby, and she's not looking guilty. Then I look at Rhys, and he's about twice his normal size. Bingo! Now Rhys is know to create his own mayhem at random, if you recall, his last mayhem was pulling the deep fryer off the counter last year and causing my hardwoods to be ruined (they were just replaced with bamboo, very happy BTW)

I digress. So now Rhys isn't feeling good. Surprise. Thing is, he's just started a new medication, and I can't decide whether or not to call and tell them he's not well, or just assume its the 3lbs of gum causing his belly to hurt. My gut says the later...but I'll probably bring him in in the morning.

I know I am going to get the lashing with a wet noodle by his vet, but come on... Its Rhys. And I think they are starting to get to know him (they remove the cookie bin from the exam rooms we enter...)

    :gum:

I had to let out a tiny little laugh, but it really isn't funny in that way. Poor Rhys.. Hopefully the vet won't be too mad and it'll get better soon. I hate tummy aches so I can only imagine that he's not happy with his decision to eat all that gum!

HOLD ON A SECOND GANG! I don't want to cause anyone panic, but do I remember that there is something in gum that starts with an 'x' or 'z' that is poison to canines????? Maybe I am way off and suffering from an old man's confusion. Maybe it was just one brand of gum. But I think Melissa shjould at least scan the information on posions.

:scare: Poor Rys. Hope all turns out well at the vet. :-* Isn't it odd how they randomly counter-surf when you least expect it? :suspious:

He's not real great today, not bearing any weight on his back legs, and I don't know if its the bubble gum (which he pooped most of it out at about 2:30 or what...) so we're going in to the vet.

It wasn't sugar free, thats the first thing my vet asked too. It was regular little round bubble gums.

Oh Rhysie, why do you make it seem like I have munchousen syndrome?

Glad you talked with the vet, and glad my little alarm in my head went off to surface the possibility. Hope the vet tells you all is well, just a little upset tummy from being such a piggy.
