    DefaultNeighbor's puppy: So much fun!

So I think I mentioned that our next door neighbors just adopted a puppy. He's a little PISTOL! I am having so much fun visiting with him. I'm off this week and have been working in the garden, so every time she brings him out I get to see him.

The other day Kevin and I were both working outside. They were both working outside too, and had Owen with them. Every few minutes you would hear someone shriek: OW!

Hilarious! Oh, how he reminds me of Angus.

Tonight I was coming back from a walk with both boys, and my neighbor was standing out front with Owen like she wanted him to meet them. I thought both of them together might be a little much (for me, not for Owen) so I told her to hang on a second and I'd come back out with one.

So then, I had to decide who would be the dog ambassador for our family. Which of them would behave the best? Who could I count on to not embarrass me? Who would put up with a wild little puppy jumping in his face?

Mr. Angus was the man. Shocking! I never thought he'd be the steady one in any situation.

I took him back out to meet Owen. Owen promptly jumped all over him (just like Angus used to do). Angus reacted very well - he seemed a little unsure, but overall he was very, very tolerant of a whole lot of puppy behavior. I was proud of him.

Boy, being in close proximity to a new puppy like this results in a lot of deja vous. I'm not sure I could do it again. They are out walking him what seems like every hour. He bites like a little devil. I find myself reflexively telling him to "leave it," only to realize as soon as the words leave my mouth that he not only doesn't know that command, he doesn't know any commands yet. Woo - overwhelming!

But, I sure do love rubbing his fat little puppy belly!

I'll have to take a picture of Owen and post for you guys. He's a cutie!

What a great idea!! Visit somebody else's puppy. Kinda like grandkids. Have fun and give 'em back.

Yes, he's a mix, but very very heavy on the German Shepherd. He has different ears, though...they have a lot of feathering, like a Border Collie maybe.

EEEEEEEEEE puppy!!! I couldn't handle one right now, but they sure are fun to visit! My pet store owner just got a Sheltie pup that he brings to the store everyday. I go there all the time just to see her.
