So this weekend we tried again to let Remy sleep upstairs with us. Brooklyn has always slept at the foot of our bed (on the bed), but the few times we've tried Remy upstairs...well...he just didn't sleep. He was up...he was down....he was up....he was down...if you rolled over in your sleep he jumped up on you (leaving perfectly paw-shaped bruises whereever he landed) thinking you were getting up. That was just not working.
So this weekend, we decided to try again. He was out of his crate all day on Sunday. We went for a long walk. He ran about the yard all afternoon with his sister. He was pretty good and tired. So we dragged a dog bed upstairs for him. Brought him a couple toys and shut the bedroom door. He curled right up on his bed...
and slept through the night!!! No fuss. No trying to play with Brooklyn at 3:00 a.m. No jumping off and on the bed all night. So we tried it again last night...Perfect boy once again!!
Now, I don't know how he'll do today after being crated again while I'm at work....but well see!! I'm just so happy to have him out of his crate!

Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for much, but bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.
Yay, way to go!!
If I were you, I would keep trying it on weekends, when it's not as bad if you get a little less sleep.. but if you have to wake up at 5am for work, it might be much worse!
Way to go, Remy! You keep that up and you'll be allowed to sleep upstairs all the time.
