He came to us at 85 pounds. He was just a blob. Wouldn't run, swim, play....a total couch potato.
We put him on a strict diet (green bean diet) and hired a neighborhood girl to take him on a daily power walk, with a backpack. He also went on power walks (with a backpack) on his doggie daycare days. Most of those were with the walker on roller blades.
He lost 12 pounds. Now he has plenty of energy (although he still doesn't have that typical lab energetic drive). He runs and plays with Sally and Spud....he plays 10 times more at day care. He will do a little water retrieving and also land retrieving now. He jumps up into the car and truck on his own. He is a very, very happy dog! Just a great big 'ole love bug!
His previous owners wouldn't recognize him if they were to be around him. Here are his before/after pics.
he looks fabulous and I will say, so much more handsome as a slimmer more fitter Hoppy!!
I loved him the day you brought him home but I love him even more now that he is healthy and fit .... i bet his lifespan has increased dramatically as well.
Well done Hoppy - you look trim, taught and terrific!
He looks like a different dog now - more like a pup than an old, fat man.
Jackie, Champ, and Buddy

You and Bill did an amazing job with him, Nancy (and his walkers)!

Well done! He looks very healthy and happy. What a good boy!
Me, me, me. That was me! Oh my gosh, I love the new Hoppy! He is a svelte athletic guy.
