    DefaultBully Sticks Anyone?

I can't give Ruger bones anymore, he's worn some of his teeth down to the gum line with his danged tennis ball. His back molars had so much tartar I was ready to bite the bullet and have my vet clean them.

Then, a student in my agility class told me how Bully Sticks really cleaned up her dogs teeth.

And, she was right. I give them a bully stick about once a week. After about four sticks, Ruger's teeth are sparkly white again. Absolutely amazing.

I buy them at Costco, 12 in a bag, 12" long, for $20.00.

Thanks for sharing this. I was just told Lilo's teeth need cleaned again and we just got them done like a year ago. I know she is going to say same thing about Bella's. I will have to get some this week.

Cinnamon loves bully sticks though I haven't seen them at Costco lately.

Hope they get some more in soon.

Do you buy the chicken jerky at Costco. It is Cinnamon and Cierra's favorite treat.

Abbey's had them before, but they were super stinky!

I don't know how you feel about raw bones, but a lot of people swear by giving their dogs softer bones, such as knuckle bones. They are softer than, say, a marrow bone, so it cleans their teeth better. Abbey's never had one, I haven't been able to find them.

I'll have to try that. I know that they LOVE Bully Sticks. Skippy's teeth have always been very nice, but now that he is 9, I can tell his teeth aren't as nice and white as they used to be. Emilu however, has always had more brown tarter on her teeth and I have already had the vet clean them once. I think I'll try bully's for a while and see if it helps. I've had some that weren't stinky and some that were terrible!

The two that I bought (at the same time) for Abbey were HORRIBLY stinky.. I haven't bought any since then. Perhaps I will give them another try if I can find some that aren't so nasty

I think they are pretty gross. I prefer knuckle and marrow bones for teeth upkeep.

Do you just ask your butcher at the local supermarket for the knuckle bones? Every person I've talked to looks at me like I'm crazy and don't know what I'm talking about when I ask..
