When I looked at Abby this morning I thought her right eye looked red and it looked like she had some clear drainage from it.I have been working 12 hour days this week due to TB testing so I told SU to call the vet & ask to be seen today.
Well she went in at 11:30. The vet did put the stain in her eye to look for a corneal scratch, but that was okay. So it is some type of conjunctivits. She is on drops twice a day.
She was at a hunt test Sunday and I wonder if she may have picked something up in the water. Oh & she did get her third senior pass.
We worried to with Kate home & how those two play bitey-face, we were concerned maybe Kate scratched her eye. Hopefully this will clear up quickly.
Anyone else's lab have had conjunctivitis?
Sorry about Abby's eye. Be careful it doesn't spread, it can be highly contagious (as I'm sure you're fully aware!). I hope it clears up soon.
Thanks for reminding me about being contagious. I have to watch the other two now.
Hope Abby's eye is all better real soon, the meds should do the trick as you know. Sorry about working so much, did I tell you I'm on vacation after my shift on Thurs.
Hope she's feeling better soon.

Every now and then, I'll have a case w/ puppies. I buy the homeopathic drops by Similason (sp?) for pink eye (conjunctivitis) and keep on hand in my first aid kit and it's always cleared it right up, but if I were worried about a scratch, definitely-- off to the vet we would go. Anne
Awww healing thoughts for sweet Abby.

What the vet thought was conjuctivitis with Ruger, turned out to me non-healing corneal ulcers that we ended up needing micro surgery for.
Keep a close eye on her to be sure they heal up. Glad you saw it and got treatment quickly.
You keep up with the drops and it will go away. HK had it about a year ago. It was gone in a week after we saw the vet.
