It was a great weekend. Our club had our annual hunt test (NAHRA) and it was also a regional test, so there were 140 entries. The weather was perfect. Abby got two itermediate passes. I didn't enter Molly but now feel bad because she was the test dog for the intermediate tests and did fine. She also got to be the honor dog for the senior test, so she was happy. She has some issues we need to work on before we move ahead. But all in all it was a great weekend.

You have such good girls, Georgie!! Kudos to you both for great training!

What is the "honor dog", Georgie? Connie recently made reference to that. I've never come across the term before (no reason I would have, I guess).

Well Nance...let's see if I can explain this correctly. Basically, at the senior level your dog has to be obedient, under control and also get the marks & do other field work, but they have to be able to heel to the line, (no leash) and then they have to "honor" another dog. Which means they have to sit by your side, off to the side, and watch another dog work. They can't be whining or going for the duck. Your dog is judged on several things besides the ability to go get the duck.
So besides working on retrieving, we are always working on obedience too.
Ahhhhhh! I see! Thanks much, Georgie!

Those are great pictures!!
Way to go, Abby!!!
Georgie, that's wonderful!! Now that we've started our fieldwork training, I have sooo much more admiration for those of you with dogs in the upper levels!!! What a TON of hard work!! CONGRATS!!!
