DefaultPuff had a great time @ the Honda dealer

The oil life indicator on my '06 Honda Civic Hybrid was signalling that it was time to change to new oil so I called the dealership and made an appointment for 10 AM this morning.

We went in to the service area's lounge where Puff acted as if she was on the dealer's staff as a greeter whose job was to greet and kiss every person who came in or walked through. Enough people went along with her conceit to keep her busy and happy.

Puff was on leash with my end clipped around my leg to keep her from bothering people who didn't want to play her game. She was quite vocal at times with those who did, never a bark, but moaning, crooning, sounding almost like a cat at times, and as if she was doing some kind of gargling.

I think she enjoyed it as much as being pushed through Lowes home improvement store in a shopping cart -- maybe more.

Good move, Bob. I am sure Puff had a good time. I take HK and she loves it almost as much as the service staff. Never asked permission, never told to leave.

Kelli, I've never asked and they've never said.

I started doing that maybe 5 summers ago when I thought it was too hot to leave her in the car while I shopped and was prepared to offer that as an excuse if they said anything. Now we do it 4 seasons/year.

She never goes leashed on the floor so there's never much problem with control -- she always rides in the shopping cart basket. After our first try, since her feet seemed to hurt against the wire mesh of the basket, I put a comforter over the bottom.

Maybe 1/3rd of the customers have either a stone face or an occasional disapproving frown. About 2/3rds of the customers have smiles and many offer pats. About 90% of the staff have grins and quite a few of them know Puff by name.

That's very neat that you are able to take Puff to so many places. Abbey is much too hyper, so I think she would jump out of the basket and try to lick someone to death.

I used to take Shadow to the dealer's with me, and she acted just as Puff does. I'd never try it with the boys!

Glad she had a nice outing! I take both boys to the Land Rover dealer with me (and we make frequent trips!) and they just love them there. We even got Land Rover dog collars on one visit and I make sure they have them on whenever we go to the dealer now.
