    DefaultAnyone have a Roomba?

Roombas are on Woot.com today for cheap and I was thinking of grabbing one. With 2 labs in the house now, the amount of hair I vacuum up every day is incredible. Anyone have any experience with these?

No, but I'd love some info too. A Roomba would help me a lot!!

I doubt it'd be able to handle that volume of fur for long.. the recepticle is notoriously small.. you'd have to use it every day and my fear is it would clog in a very short period of time and break down.

I can see a herd of Labs chasing that sucker around the house too.

we have one. i would run it every other day or and empty the trap after each use. all three of my dogs ignore it and get out of the way if it gets too close. penny, our terrier, used to follow it around and bark at it the first few days, but then got bored with it, so she ignores it, too.

one of the sensors on the roomba is in need of replacement, i think, but it stopped working properly a few months back. it worked great during the 1st year. i have been meaning to call their customer support to place an order for the senor replacement part, but i haven't done it.

I've wondered about one as well, but figured the dogs might think it's a toy and the cats would freak out. Never heard of Woot.com but I think I'll go check it out now.

It's a "Deal a day" site. One product per day for a really good price, totally random. They sometimes do crazy stuff like sell you a mystery box of stuff for $5, people have gotten 52" flatscreen TV's during those promotions. Today's case is a $200+ Roomba for $130.

Does it go from wood or tile floor up onto an area rug? I was wondering about one too. What about under the beds? Would it get stuck under there?

yes to all floor types. yes to under the bed. it only gets stuck in places that are tight fits and it can't figure out a way back out after several attempts. so, not likely to get stuck under the bed.

this refurb roomba on the woot.com site is a good price. i payed a lot more for mine when i bought it at costco last year.
