Appt is for the vet tomorrow. So no diagnostic updates.
But some behavioral ones:
Stairs -- This morning, before we went downstairs, I TURNED THE STAIRWELL LIGHT ON. This may become s.o.p. for the fall/winter, when the stairs are dark.
I also went WITH him (yesterday, as I've done a zillion other mornings, I went down first and he followed), telling him EASY!!!! before we started off.
And he decended w/out incidence. Wagged like a fool at the bottom and on we went.
Meds -- Hidden in a chunk of scrapple, they went right down. And he ate his bowl enthusiastically.
With the one pill, I was warned that a side effect could be tummy upset. And I'm SURE the thing tastes like hell. He's bitten one in half by mistake, and his face makes it look like he's eating battery acid. So it all may be associating a negative thing with his morning meal. I've stopped putting them in his bowl, and he IS eating better.
So maybe things aren't as dim as they were yesterday.
Thanx all. When we DO get to the vet, I'll update again.

Indy was on antibiotics for four weeks and they were VERY bitter... the one thing that helped with him was putting it in a Fig Newton, they are super sticky...and as his tummy was upset with the antibiotics, on top of his normal Rimadyl and Tramadol, I fed him three times a day to make sure there was something always on his stomach, as well as numerous treats (doing this, I feel, helped to keep the nauseousness at bay)...we also had to change to a "store bought food" that would stimulate his appetite until he was off the antibiotics and decided he would start to eat his regular food more.
Good luck with Wes...poor baby, I hope he feels better soon!!!!
Mom to Indy 6/12/98 to 11/16/11 (always in my heart), and Jobe 8-14-2000 to 6/24/2013 (Working TDI) English Labs, and Annie our Golden Retriever (TDI), and Kodiak (who will one day hopefully be a TDI dog if he doesn't kill me first).
Glad to hear he was better this morning Dan. Good luck at the vet.
Poor Wes. Glad he seems better. He's bitten one in half by mistake, and his face makes it look like he's eating battery acid.
Good update. Jakey will not take Tylan powder in his food. It's very bitter tasting and even though I only use a pinch, if he smells it he will not eat. Dogs have amazing memories, even food whores, which Jake is.

Sounds much better, Dan.. maybe that stair thing was a fluke.. but i think turning the light on is probably a good idea from here on out..

That's good news. I'm glad he's better today.
Dan, that sounds great! I'm very happy to hear all of this. Sometimes all that is needed is thinking about things from their point of view and making a few minor adjustments. Wes is very lucky that his person is looking out for him so well.
I'll be anxious to hear the vet update tomorrow too.
Glad to hear he's doing better.

Thanks for the update I've been worried. Maybe he was just having an off day yesterday? Let us know what the vet says. *smooches* to Wes.
