Skippy's ear has been bothering him for months now. It looks clean, doesn't have a discharge or odor, and I had the vet look at it briefly a while back when he was there for something else, but the ear wasn't bothering him at the time. It slowly kept getting worse, so today we went to the vet to check it out. First - he has lost 3 lbs and weighs a svelte 112lbs! (the vet says he isn't fat at all), then the looked at the ear, and swabbed it deep (Skippy cried), then a check under the microscope - diagnosis - "yeast infection" - so we got 2 meds - one for morning and one for night. Total cost - $59.50 - for the exam, meds and cytology. Not too bad - hope it clears him up pretty quickly.
That's not bad at all. Hopefully it clears up.

Looks like you got off a lot cheaper than Ed did with HK's ear checkup. Hope Skip's clear up quickly!
Poor Skippy. That's got to be painful. Hope he gets better soon.
Patm, Do I remember right that you are in WI? Exactly where? I am 37 miles from Hudson, our closest crossing into WI.Might almost be worth the gas to go to your vet.
Hershey Kisses, In charge of getting Ed out to the dog park so that he gets some exercise.
Not bad at all! Hope it clears up soon!
We're in SE Ohio -sorry! I do like our vets. They are reasonably priced and seem to be pretty good - he's the one that did that traditional ACL repair on Skippy. And they like my dogs - so that's the most important thing. Office staff is very nice too.
Not bad, I hope too it clears up.
Glad the diagnosis was straighforward, and the bill not too steep. Hopefully the meds will clear it up quickly.
