Thread: Our 1st show

    DefaultOur 1st show

    Next week is our 1st show, its just a local one but im definately going to enter basic obedience. What does it generally entail? We have done a bit at gundog training heel on lead, off lead, recall, sit/down stays anything else i should be prepared for and any tips?

    Also we are entering fun classes like best looking male, smile etc lol!

    Ill also be there with my friends horse sooo nervous :scare:

    Don't forget your stand for examination! Thats often the hardest for our very friendly exhuberant labradorables!

    I wouldn't worry about it. Small, local, fun shows are just that -- for fun. If you have done gundog training, I bet Alfie is already one step ahead of the other dogs, especially in terms of responsiveness to you around distractions. Most pet dogs don't get that type of training. Apart from that, simply enjoy yourself. If you do well you might want to look into doing something like gundog scurries.

    Well today ive been going over basics...heel, halt, sit/down stay and recall so i hope its enough im just so nervous lol
