It is in 90s here today in CT with high humidity. We have a kiddie pool set up in the backyard for the dogs, though we were only letting them out for 15 minutes at a time over the weekend. We took them on their walk before 8 a.m. before the heat really set in. We're trying to keep them in the AC as much as possible.
And today while I'm at work they both have kongs with sugar free applesauce frozen in them.
What are you doing to help your pups cope?

We did the exact same thing all weekend. I poured water from the pool on both the dogs yesterday and Willy got so excited, he started butt tucking around the yard. Libby decided to chase him and I started to get worried that it was too hot to be running around like that, so I shooed them in the house into the AC. It was kinda funny though.Originally Posted by Retriever Mama
Outside for only quick potty breaks, walks early am/late pm. Inside in the A/C otherwise.

DP after sunset only, pool for swimming no walks as payment stays to hot the pavement into the DP only. But she is a desert lab so she is use to summer. They play in the house a lot so we just let them run in the living room family room race course.

Saturday, with a heat index of 105, Eddie was fast asleep out on our patio! It is a shaded area but was sweltering even so. I got him in and he just looked at me as if to say ' wha....????.... he felt quite cool to the touch, thank goodness.
Both Saturday and Sunday later in the evening, he would ask to go in after about 30 minutes would lay by the door watching what was going on. Fanny lay outside on the patio and every so often got up and jumped in her pool! She doesn't lay down in it though, just walks around drinking and digging.
It was 100+ here all weekend so I took Brigetta to the tennis courts and to the park at 7am Sat. and Sun. Prudence (my senior) was only let out for potty breaks.

Pfff, I thought we'd be safe from all the hotness in Canada, but not so...Originally Posted by Endofile
Similar to others, we're mostly staying indoors. Short walks in the early am and evening, Baloo will go outside now and then to play in his pool. Last night we went to my mom's house and Baloo played with the sprinkler for a bit.
