Ok, I left the shock collar on my dog for like 3 days. I just took it off and noticed where the 2 prongs were his skin was raw. Like almost bloody raw. I have not shocked him, so its not burns, but its almost like real bad irritations. Just put neosporene on it and he'll be fine? He hasnt seemed to be in any discomfort except for when you go to touch it.
How in the world could you leave a shock collar on a dog for 3 days. That is inhumane.
Take the poor dog to the vet and throw out the shock collar.
WHY do you think you needed a shock collar ??
He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.
You should never leave them on for 24 hours. Only for whatever it is being used for. Yes, neosporin and DO NOT put it back on while the neck is healing. You really shouldn't use an e-collar unless both you and the dog have been properly trained. If you left it on for 3 days, I'm guessing that didn't happen.
I feel bad for the dog... > throw away the e-collar...
PS: Hope u learned ur lesson though :P
The collar is put on during training and removed when done. Just like if you use a choke collar or a prong collar.

Please, please do not use a shock collar unless you have been properly trained and never, ever leave it on for days at a time. You have seen what can happen. Throw it away.
I suspect that this shock collar is on the time as the dog is on an invisble fence outdoors
