    DefaultGrey hairs

    Not my hair (fortunately). Toby's.

But how old were your pups when you first started noticing grey? and how long did it take to fill in?

I ask because I noticed the other day that Toby (chocolate) has grey coming in on his chin. At first glance I thought it was just slobber, but it's definitely grey hair coming in. There are also a few starting (barely) to come in on his muzzle. He's 2-1/2. I know I'm an obsessive mommy, but it's more than just a few hairs.

He's also HUGE and he grew very, very fast, I wonder if maybe that had anything to do with it? Or is it like people that some go grey really early while others don't? And obviously with darker fur over all, they grey is more obvious. But it still seems awfully young to me.

Mitzi also turned white in the face when she was only about three to four years old.

Zoe (my chocolate) was around 2 when I first started noticing a few grey hairs here and there. She is now 4-1/2 and has a nice grey chin on her.

Emma was only 2½ too, when she started. She's only 54-55 lbs. So I would say size has nothing to do it. Just because they are greying doesn't mean they are aging faster than others. Emma is now 12 years and has always been very healthy. I remember how it was to see the first white hairs, but you'll get over it fast. It's beautiful.

Rocky got some grey whiskers before the age of two. But they haven't filled out much since then. Dryf (yellow) didn't noticeably whiten until 10 and it spread fast!

He also has white hair in "that" area.

Same for Jes - down to when it started and what he looks like. Him and Zoe are a spitting image of each other.

Kai started getting grey hairs on his chin before he was 2. Now the grey is really visible on his chin and muzzle. You should be able to see it in my sig pic. Samm has a few random white hairs on his face, but I've heard that random white hairs are a result of cuts or some sort of injury.

Bella definitely had a little gray on her chin by the time she was 2 and started getting some gray above her mouth by about 4 or 5.

She's probably about 6 in this picture. I like how the gray looks.

Ranger started when he was about 3 or 4 as did Blackie, while Reggie who is 12 has yet to have a gray hair (although he's given me a few)
