Horse People...gear brand/quality advice? (cross post from O&E)
My 8 year old as finally reached the top of the wait list at a reputable local stable for riding lessons (Yay!!!) She's done it before, but on a per-ride basis, and with borrowed gear. Now she is in to start weekly lessons and I have to buy her gear. There are lots of tack shops, 2 close by have special packages, but each shop has a different brand n their kits. I know zero about it so I am wondering what the best quality is? One pkg is
Troxel Sport helmet
Mondega 1/2 chaps
Aukken Nouvelle II paddock boots
The other (From Road Apples)
I don't have he pkg list, but the paddock boots were either Ariat or Boulet and the helmet was Louis Garneau, I don't recall the halfchaps, breeches brands or the crop. Theirs also came wih a grooming kit.
Both are $120. cost is not my main concern, but quality, ESPECIALLY the helmet is of utmost importance.

Thanks. She's been a horse girl from day 1. It's all I could to to hold her off on lessons until she was 8. The first time she was on a horse she had tears in her eyes, she was so happy She's been riding, but these are her first official lessons.
