about 3 hours ago, i noticed that cinder had been constantly licking her lips and drooling and i'm a bit concerned. i looked in my home veterinarian book and it says that sometimes, drooling can be brought on by dental infections or something stuck in her teeth but i just looked at her teeth and all looks well. this is the first time i have noticed the constant licking and her drooling excessively isn't really out of the ordinary (will leave big wet marks on her pillow when she sleeps) but i'm still concerned. any ideas. worried she might not get any sleep because she keeps swallowing and licking. if it continues, i might run her to the vet this weekend. i am one concerned momma.
Sam had a few episodes of licking/drooling a couple of months ago. Each episode lasted 2 or 3 hours then stopped. It was very weird. I told the vet, and they didn't know what could have caused it.

Did she swallow something that got stuck?
i can't see anything down her throat and i just brushed her teeth to see if she had something stuck in them. thanks for the replies.
could it be from playing outside in the cold with a tennis ball that gets icy? maybe it was hard on her teeth or something?
Nausea can cause this kind of reaction
as can bad teeth

Casey did something like that a while back after I fed her two raw eggs. I don't know if the the eggs were bad or it was an allergic action but I have not given her anymore eggs and I make sure her food is egg free.
As Andrea said, nausea can cause this. Nellie has had this several times. It's upsetting but it passes.
