We were watching the Westminster dog show the other night, and noticed the trainers held a treat out for the dogs while the judges were examining them. They seemed larger and more chewey than the standard treats I have seen in pet stores.
Does anyone know what they use? ???
Hot dogs? Cheese?
All kinds of stuff. Puppy crack (homemade tuna treat), liver, hotdogs, frozen biljac, chicken, and farm (tripe) are favorites here.
Charlie will embarrass me if I forget his chicken breasts......and fryed will only do if I peal the meat away from the crispy part. :
What you saw was liver. Most pros that I know use it.
BTW, your siggy picture is HUGE! Can you resize it? Thanks.

Nothing makes your house smell better than this LOL I swear every dog in the neighborhood will come running!Originally Posted by JacksAndLabs
I do hot dogs, I can put them in my mouth (puke...liver) and in my pockets without gagging.
But at the Potomac, Ruby got my $45 steak that I couldn't eat because it was bleeding. There were no complaints filed on her part
What's the tuna/puppy crack stuff recipe?

mix and bake in pan (9x13" maybe...I'm not much of a baker ) for 20 min at 350 degrees. Let sit for a couple minutes then cut (I do small squares). You can serve right away, or put it in the fridge or freeze for later. I will usually make up a batch on thursday before a show or trial and split it into three containers and pop them in the fridge...each morning, I grab a container before I head out! You can substitute other types of flour if you'd like, or I've used one large can of jack mackeral or pink salmon instead of tuna. I also add shredded cheese.
