Where Friends Gather Forever
In Honor of the Memory of Paola’s Mary
12 February 2008, this day an angel came from Paradise.
She said to Mary, “You cannot stay.
It is time to cross the bridge.
Come with me.
I will hold your paw.
You are going to Heaven.
Where your memory will live forever.”
The bridge, you say!
What Bridge is that?
Why would I want to cross this bridge?
My life here is complete.
Warm meals, and plenty of toys for my delight.
Nothing more could I ever want.
This place, it is called the Rainbow Bridge.
Where animals go when their journey on earth is traveled.
Their friends await them.
Humans who have known the love of a pet,
Hope to gather there as well some day.
Sadly, the light of day fades.
As you spoke softly one last time.
Letting those you loved know this moment was meant to say farewell.
Blessed with many wonderful years and a lifetime of memories,
The stars shine bright lighting the way.
You’ve crossed the bridge on your final journey.
On the other side friends gather to meet you.
Now, we can feel your smile as you look down on us.
The glow of your memory will forever light our hearts.
Run free, good and faithful friend.
Run free sweet Mary, run free.
