but everytime I put on my red jacket, Blue is ready for a walk even if I'm not taking her or if the alarm goes off, she's licking my face to get me up and lies outside the bathroom until I'm dressed for an am walk.

Smart dogs these labs. They do catch on quick to routines.

No kidding, Lexi is so accustomed to going places with me (even if I can't actually take her in with me), all I have to do is unlock the car with the keyless entry. She is bouncing around as if to say "Come on Mom, let's go!"

If I start the car with the key fob, then she starts to bouncing & barking.

    My pretty girl, Lexi!

Our dogs figure out the routine, certain signals that we don't even know we are transmitting. Especially those that precede something they regard as a plus, reward, fun, whatever.

HK knows which jacket I put on for the dog park. This past Sunday when i was planning on not going because of the cold, she was yippy, nose poking, general nuisance. I knew what she wanted but was resisting until she went and pulled my jacket off the coat hook and dragged it to me. I had no choice. My master had spoken.

Here when I grab my keys, mine know it's crate time. It really throws them when I am just grabbing them to unlock my trunk or something.

Duke sees or hears car keys he goes bonkers. Tell Duke "stay" and you will see the saddest hang dog look you will ever see. I swear he is saying "OK, you can leave without me and I'll try not to die before you return." :'(

I love it. I have seen that look. 5 days a week at a minimum. Should I dare to think about leaving her on a weekend day, oh man! Can she add the guilt to that look.
