Just put up a MASSIVE stink over having to take his panacur. : >
I never thought I'd see the day when he actually refused to put something in his mouth, but alas, that day has come. :-\ I just had a battle royale with him on the kitchen floor, ended up having to pin him in a corner with my legs, and I still got white stuff everywhere. :-X *sigh*
Here's hoping tomorrow is better, I don't know if I can take this every morning for the next little while!! :-\ :
can you mix it with something tasty, like peanut butter or cheezwhiz?
He tends to get diarrhea if he eats anything of the sort....... but I may have to make that sacrifice. :-\ He also has to take 12 mls daily, so that would be a lot of peanut butter. :POriginally Posted by kaytris
Yogurt or baby food then....
LOL Kate! I was thinking of you and your vet appt today!
Would he eat it if it were mixed in with his food?
Hmm..... the food thing might work..... I'll try it!
I'm just worried about wasting a dose if he turns up his nose (it ain't cheap) but I guess if it's getting all over the place that's counter-productive as well. :-\
That's what I did when Shelby had to take it. She licks her bowl clean no matter what's in it. Good luck with Baloo!Originally Posted by henrysmom
The panacur I had was a powder and the vet said to sprinkle on the food. There were 2 packets to make his weight. There is no way I could have gotten Jonah to eat all that powder plain! Sprinkle it on his food, swish with water, and put it down as usual. Jonah doesn't hesitate, and we've now gone through this many times, next dose will be coming at the end of the week. Is yours different than a packet of powder?
Mine's a liquid, Allyson. probably just the liquidized version of the powder. :P
So get a 20 cc syringe and squirt it in his mouth.
