    DefaultSargeant's needs a good home too :)

I swear he is going through his puppy stage all over again! He decided that when we went to Wal-Mart last night it might be fun to tear up the garbage AGAIN! That's two days in a row now! We are going to have to kennel him when we leave the house, I just feel so bad, he hasn't had to stay in his kennel in almost a full year! If it weren't for that cute face I don't know what I'd do with him!

With Bess, the only thing that worked for us was to keep the trash/garbage can behind a latched door.

    Worked well for us.

I don't think it's puppy stage again. Scavenging is in our dogs' genes and natures so they're just 'doing what comes naturally.'

As I wrote in "Poor Bess, the Wonder Dog,"

"....The kitchen wastebasket often called to Bess the way the serpent must have called to Eve."

He hasn't got into the garbage ever until just the night before last, now it seems to be a reoccuring thing! Why all of a sudden!

Because what was there was more tempting than what had previously been there, probably?

I have to agree with BobPr. There must have been a new scent he couldn't resist. I would empty it, clean it with Lysol or something equivalent that stinks.
